Job Description:
Summary:
Barr is seeking an environmental data management technician to join its Denver office. The person in this position will work primarily in the Intelex environmental database, ACTS, with a heavy emphasis in Microsoft Excel. Assigned tasks may include entering data into the ACTS database; manually checking data thoroughly against original documents; producing and reviewing database reports; performing advanced formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel using large sets of data from databases; working closely with engineers and scientists to help ensure clients are maintaining compliance with permits and regulations; and discussing data and projects with other data management staff.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $20.30 - $26.79 hourly. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with databases and managing large data sets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with charts and functions
- Exceptional deductive reasoning skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
- Strong mathematical and scientific skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in environmental studies/sciences, geology, chemistry, biology, business, or related field
- 1+ year professional experience working with databases and/or Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of database and programming platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Oracle, Microsoft Access, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript, or similar
- Ability to process complex or rapidly developing information to extract key issues and implications and develop appropriate strategies
