Our Tanami Operations, 540km north-west of Alice Springs, are on Aboriginal freehold land, in the NT's remote Tanami Desert. A fully equipped 1200-bed village, 40km from the mine, offers modern leisure facilities to the workforce who FIFO direct from Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs.

The Role

Reporting to the Technology Manager, based at Newmont Tanami Operations (NTO) - Granites & DBS the Network Support Analyst - Infrastructure role is mainly responsible for the preventative & corrective maintenance, improvement and development work related to the networking systems.

The role is based in Tanami and offers an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, Brisbane, Darwin & Alice Springs.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • the preventative & corrective maintenance, improvement and development work related to the networking systems (network switches & routers, Wi-Fi controllers and AP's, etc.) supporting the operations (i.e. industrial data & business networks, various Wi-Fi deployments for IT & OT, ) for the entire NTO site.
  • tasks related to the IT Field Services support function, to enhance & support the existing dedicated IT Field Services personnel.
  • Undertaking non-routine investigations and queries of the networking systems to provide data for troubleshooting, fault finding, management reporting and optimization activities.
  • Liaising with the other operational departments to ensure the required network maintenance activities will have minimal or no impact to the operation.


The Person

  • 5+ years' experience in networking infrastructure services or IT Field Services support role, in a heavy industrial/mine site-based position.
  • Network and CISCO certifications are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience with Ethernet networks and Cisco switches/routers.
  • Experience with industrial Ethernet networks highly desirable
  • Advanced PC skills and computer literacy.
  • Demonstrable experience in IT Field Services in a heavy industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.


To be considered for this role, you must be able to meet the site access requirements by having a current driver's license, passing a police clearance and pre-employment medical.

You must also be an Australian Citizen or have full work rights and be located in Australia, as no relocation will be possible.
