U.S. Silver is currently looking for a Mill Supervisor - Metallurgist at our Wallace, Idaho operation. 

SUMMARY:

  1. Establishes and maintains a safe work environment by
    • Establishing and maintaining a working knowledge of the U.S. Silver Loss Control Program, U.S. Silver Safety and Health rules and MSHA standards.
    • Performing daily inspections of work areas with assigned employees.
    • Ensuring compliance with training requirements and procedures.
    • Coordinating and communicating operations requirements with the Safety department.
    Provides direction of production and maintenance functions by
    • Communicating short and long term production goals to employees
    • Working weekends and holidays as required
    • Controlling costs of consumables and repair materials
    • Supervising Mill production and Maintenance crews
    • Filling in for Mill Superintendent as needed
    Provides training and support to employees by
    • Providing on-the-job training
    • Training employees for use of reagents
    • Providing written training materials to employees
    • Keeping on-site MSDS updated
    Shipping and sampling concentrates by
    • Sharing duties with Mill Superintendent regarding shipping and sampling as needed.
    • Communicating with Assay Lab.
    Inventories and orders supplies by
    • Documenting material usage.
    • Adhering to Accounting Department order procedures.
    Provides daily, monthly, and annual data by
    • Approving and/or inputting hourly timecards daily as needed.
    • Preparing and distributing reports of lab testing.
    Improves Mill operations metal recovery and efficiency by
    • Running lab tests as time permits
    • Directing lab testing of outside services
    • Running monthly screen analysis
    • Providing study of pumps and cyclone efficiency
    • Testing new reagents
    • Reviewing historical reports
    • Providing study of concentrate moisture's
    • Providing study to upgrade concentrate grades
    • Providing study to reduce concentrate penalty metals
    • Performing engineering trade-off studies to improve overall Mill operation's

Education and/or Experience: Preferred 4-year degree in Metallurgy but not required.

Technological Requirements: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
