Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for a Junior Procurement Specialist to join our Mining & Minerals business at our Oakville, ON office. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Junior Procurement Specialist will provide support to the Supply Chain Team and perform tasks in accordance with standard techniques, procedures and criteria within assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Oracle database and associated Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes
  • Assist with coordinating the project supplier prequalification process
  • Provide assistance with preparing request for proposals and contracting documentation
  • Provide assistance with expediting approval signatures on a project
  • Provide assistance with coordinating small value purchase orders and contracts (including invoice verification and expediting approvals)
  • Run, validate and maintain various weekly and monthly reports within company management tool
  • File and organize SCM documentation in Share-Point and in Outlook as required
  • Attend project meetings and prepare minutes of meetings
  • Assist with photocopying contracting documentation for distribution


Skills / Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' of experience within EPC/EPCM projects; preferably with mining industry experience
  • Familiarity and understanding of the Supply Chain processes and terminology
  • Technical college diploma and / or university degree
  • SCMP designation or equivalent preferred
  • Require highly effective skills in organization, planning and communication and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Detail and goal-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory
  • Experience working in an engineering consulting environment is preferred
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office applications, Oracle, Share-Point, Electronic Project Management Systems, including data base manipulation
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
