SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Reporting and Equity Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing and coordinating all aspects related to equity accounting and supporting the quarterly and annual financial reporting process. This position currently reports directly to the Director of Corporate Finance and is located in Reno, Nevada. This position works in the office 2 days/week with option to work remotely the rest of the time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare share-based payment entries and disclosures.
Prepare fixed asset files and disclosures in multiple currencies.
Assist in updating, rolling forward, and tying-out the financial statements and/or MD&A.
Review subsidiary financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
Prepare documentation for external auditors.
Recommend ways to improve efficiency in all process including in SAP and other systems.
Update process documentation and financial records for others to follow in the future.
Assist in testing internal controls, recommend ways to improve control efficiency.
Prepare all equity-related disclosures including the Statement of Stockholders' Equity, Earnings-Per-Share calculation, equity footnote
Prepare and record the monthly stock-based compensation accounting entries, including pushdowns to international and domestic subsidiaries
Assist with the monthly consolidation process including account reconciliations, journal entries and maintaining accurate support
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and footnote disclosures
Assist with preparation and tie out of earnings release materials
Prepare quarterly and annual disclosure checklists
Perform internal controls related to financial reporting and equity accounting
Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures
Work with our auditors on SEC disclosure questions and reporting
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
5+ years of accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of IFRS/GAAP.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
Good problem-solving and time management skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
