Hatch is looking for a Communications Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX with specialized design experience in data transport, electronic security systems, physical IT networks, and mission-critical technology systems. The Communications Engineer will be responsible for executing design and construction management of fiber backbone cabling systems, wireless communication systems, video surveillance & access control systems, wide area networks, and IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare discipline design, studies, calculations and documentation to support feasibility studies,
- Detailed engineering for supply and construction
- Provide input into capital estimates and project schedules
- Provide key discipline input to multi-discipline project teams
- Participate in formal engineering review processes
- Provision of on-site construction and commissioning technical support
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a PE license (or the experience necessary to attain this)
- Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements
- Experience in the design, specification, installation, expansion and optimisation of communication systems and associated infrastructure, such as: radio, private LTE, satellite, wireless, VOIP phone, fibre, CCTV, security and access control, IT networks and server rooms.
- Demonstrated design and engineering experience in the mining and metals sector or similar heavy industries such as energy or infrastructure
- Experience in the investigation, planning and supervision of construction works and/or maintenance activities in operational facilities
- Current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to ICT systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients on a technical and interpersonal level
