About the role

The Renewal Analyst Software Asset Management role is a 1 year (optional 1 year extension) fixed term team member role for Rio Tinto's SAM service within the Mongolia Business Service Support Center to consolidate and co-term software purchases made outside of SAM team management, e. g. Business Unit (BU) local procurement, analyze software expenditure and create cost saving modules.

Reporting to Superintendent Software Asset Management, you will:
  • Consolidate the software purchases made outside of SAM management
  • Renew and manage software contracts
  • Co-term software contracts to a single date
  • Estimate the software purchase volume, forecast the future spending
  • Audit each software renewal and purchase request in line with our policies and procedures to ensure correct purchasing and entitlements
  • Plan and monitor the software portfolio to ensure it is correctly maintained including vendor liaison and negotiation, contract creation, budget control, reporting whilst recommending improved purchasing or usage solutions
  • Sustain and report on the software asset register and toolset including license and agreement information, while proactively improving the process with Procurement, Business Partners and Application Team.

What you will bring:
  • Degree qualified or higher in Information Technology, Contract Management, Finance, Data Analysis, Auditing or Compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Attention to detail, both in numbers (financials) and in contract (or similar) documents
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Fact-checking and data accuracy are a must
  • Superior excel skills to interrogate data
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in large organizations will be beneficial.
