Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch, is currently seeking a Rail Systems Simulation Analyst to join the Infrastructure group in Melbourne or Sydney.

We have been providing clients with top level technical expertise to solve their toughest rail engineering challenges. As the successful candidate you will be:

Responsible for undertaking studies and analyses of travel time, rail system capacity, network improvements, and electrical network system performance, the Rail Systems Analysts will be part of our Australia's Operations and Traction Power Simulation practice. The Analysts will also develop rail service and operating plans, as well as support our Australia’s traction power modelling practice. A significant portion of the Analysts’ time may be devoted to creating/simulating system models, authoring technical reports, creating presentations and developing proposals for new assignments.

You bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Analytics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Urban and Transportation Planning, Operations Management
  • Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to create presentations, and develop proposal for new assignments
  • Proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience with rail traction power systems or rail vehicle engineering is desirable
  • Experience using software to simulate train performance, evaluate rail network operations and capacity, and assess traction power system is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment are a must
