Senior Consultant (Open Pit Mining) - Vancouver, BC, Canada

SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

We are seeking a Senior Consultant (Open Pit Mining) .

Description of Responsibilities:

As a senior consultant, you will provide consulting advice on projects for North American and international clients. Projects will include a range of activities related to mining components of scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility, due diligence and operational improvement studies.

An important aspect of working for SRK is the individual growth of your consulting skills within the broader global consulting group. SRK encourages all consultants to grow their consultancy under the broader SRK umbrella. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships.

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mining engineering
• Minimum of ten years of post-graduate industry experience in open pit mining and mine planning
• Mining operational experience in open pit operations
• Experience with mining planning and design, pit optimization, equipment selection and mining operating cost estimation
• Proficiency with computerized mine planning and optimization tools, e.g. SURPAC, Whittle, Deswik, Datamine, MineSight, Vulcan
• Registered as Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer.
• Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
• Ability and desire to collaborate with other technical specialists

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects both nationally and overseas; international travel may form a significant part of the role.
