Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Architecture, the Enterprise Architect is accountable for delivering Enterprise Architecture (EA) capabilities to Teck. The Enterprise Architect's responsibilities include assessing the current IT infrastructure, optimizing business operations, and making recommendations for the direction and approach for integrating information, applications, and programs. The Enterprise Architect is also responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities.

Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Assist in growing and maturing the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice at Teck
• Provide EA support and guidance to large and complex projects; ensure alignment to standards and policies, identify risks, and aid completion of Record of Architecture Reviews (RoAR)
• Assist in developing and maintaining Teck’s EA repositories, including standards, policies, designs, best practices, reference architectures, knowledge bases, RoAR, and the processes surrounding them
• Guide Solution Architects and Stakeholders to leverage and find value within the EA repositories
• Support stakeholders to analyze, evaluate and ensure projects, solutions, platforms, products, and applications comply with Teck’s EA standards, policies, and best practices
• Assist in the promotion of said EA designs, standards, policies, and best practices across the enterprise
• Represent EA as a principal point of contact for Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and other Stakeholders
• Evaluate new software and approve use when compliance with security, standards, policies, use cases, and procurement guidance are met
• Aid Business/Functional Analysts and Developers to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that meet or exceed our Business Partners’ expectations
• Use EA tools (HOPEX) to document and communicate, Business Capabilities, Business Processes, Integrations, Data Architectures, Applications, and other
• Be accountable for seeking innovation and continuous improvement in the EA domain

Qualifications

• 10+ years of broad, multi-domain, enterprise IT experience, 5+ of those at the architectural level
• TOGAF or other architecture framework certification would be an asset
• Experience architecting for cloud environments; PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.
• sAFE or other Agile certification would be an asset
• Familiar with HOPEX or other enterprise architecture tools/platforms
• Experience in creating visual representations of IT architectures using; Visio, Draw.io, or other

• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Has strong communication, interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills

• Ability to communicate in Spanish (written/verbal) would be a strong asset
• Stays current with new technologies and methodologies such as Event-Driven Computing, etc.
• Passionate about technology, a love of learning new things and helping customers succeed
