About this role

  • Analyze and report cost and production forecast/ budget information.
  • Support forecast/planning process, including communication and training materials.
  • Provide BPC System functional and business process support for planning applications.
  • Maintain and further enhance BPC Systems functionality for a more simplified and streamlined planning process.
  • Interact with corporate and global business planning teams.


Your role will consist of

  • Coordinate and analyze the data and assumptions that drive forecast/plan results.
  • Support master data governance system changes.
  • Generate internal reports and KPIs along with ad hoc analysis as the need arises.
  • Perform conventional planning practices including researching and analyzing trends.
  • Create/Maintain presentations, spreadsheets, reports, or other metric-driven tools.
  • Perform BPC System support such as researching, documenting or updating basic functionality such as input schedules, master data, data flow and calculation logic.
  • The BPC System for Business Planning is comprised of 5 applications, including Planning, Stats, Projects, Operating Expense, and Labor Modeling.
  • Support development, implementation and testing of BPC system enhancements in coordination with IT and regional planning teams.
  • Role may be globally-focused, or oriented (i.e. coordinates information, resources and compiles data from multiple sources, sites and/or functions).
  • Lead system security efforts to ensure users have appropriate access as well as onboard and offboard employees as needed.
  • Assist in change management initiatives and communication efforts out to stakeholders when system or process changes are implemented.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

  • Undergraduate degree required (preferably Accounting or Finance; or related field).
  • 2-3 years of business analytics/mining ops experience (preferably in mining or mineral extraction-related industry).
  • 2-3 years of systems experience (preferably BPC or other multi-dimensional systems).
  • Strong analytic and synthesis skills; conceptual understanding of financial data and the basic application of accounting principles.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including complex financial modeling and other tools development.
  • Requires acumen in accounting, finance and planning concepts and methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate and present information required -translate financial and data driven information into presentations.


Working conditions and location

  • The position is located in the Denver Corporate office.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist, other domestic and international sites.


The salary range offered for this role is $70,125 - 86,625. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
