Hatch is seeking a motivated and talented Junior ElectricalEngineer with the desire for a challenging career in the engineering-consulting field. This challenging position in our Pittsburgh, PA office involves working as part of a highly-specialized team focused on energy and infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire knowledge in power distribution systems, instrumentation and controls, transformers, switchgear, stand-by and emergency power systems, load and fault current calculations, power flow and shortcircuit analysis, SCADA and telemetry, lighting systems, and NEC code compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Electrical Engineer in preparing engineering calculations such as cable and conduit sizing and load flow analysis.
- Prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement and construction contracts and write reports for power system studies such as arc flash analysis, short circuit and protective device coordination.
- Perform design modifications of new and existing electrical installations and power systems.
- Application of electrical study software (ETAP, SKM, EDSA or EasyPower).
- Application or ability to learn CADD systems (AutoCAD/Microstation).
- Application of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Project).
Qualifications:
- 0-3years ofexperiencein electrical design within a similar large engineering or multi-disciplinary project environment.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams.
- Commitment to achieving engineering excellence.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to various practical problems.
- A desire to learn and continually develop.
- Strong personal commitment to safety.
