Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be par of the Leadership Group that will drive future grown and provides both operational and programmatic support to Redpath Australia. Managing the Finance and Information Systems departments, the CFO directly assists the Managing Director and senior management on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting and operational information.

Specifically, key accountabilities include:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Finance team
- perform the role of Company Secretary and Public Officer for the Redpath Australia group of companies
- Provide financial strategic planning and cost saving recommendations
- Lead the external reporting, including ensuring the Institute meets all regulatory reporting needs
- provide the Managing Director with an operating budget ensuring programmatic success through cost analysis support and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements, including interpreting legislative and programmatic rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and contractual guidelines, ensuring that all government regulations and requirements are disseminated to appropriate personnel, and monitoring compliance as they relate to finance & IS/IT
- oversee the management and coordination of all financial reporting activities for the organisation including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organisational and contract budgets, reports to Redpath Canada
- prepare reports and attend Redpath Canada, Board and management meetings as required providing financial and commercial advice and information
- ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organisation's needs
- coordinate the production of monthly reports including any required reconciliations, financial statements and cash flow projections
- manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- oversee the maintenance of the fixed assets system ensuring all are in accordance with required regulations and policies
- ensure the Company's financial management, measurement and reporting systems are efficient and effective to produce timely and accurate information
- manage the finance and information systems departments ensuring the delivery of quality customer service to internal and external customers and meeting the goals in the overall business strategy
- ensure timely preparation and administration of accounts, tax, budgets and financial plans;
- contribute to the organisation's continued activities into improved performance and promote a culture that strives for continuous improvement and innovative solutions
Your Qualifications & Your Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Commerce
- CPA or CA qualifications
- demonstrated senior finance and management experience in the mining and resources industry;
- strong analytical skills
- demonstrated experience in the identification, development and implementation of financial information systems and organisational systems
- demonstrated leadership capabilities
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- demonstrated ability to foster and cultivate business opportunities and partnerships
- solid planning and organisational skills
- attention to detail being able to ensure all company and legislative standards and compliance are met
- a drive for continuous improvement and innovative solutions
