About the role

Redpath are seeking a suitably experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join their team at Eagle Farm. This position is focused on project management and implementation.

Responsibilities include researching, planning, and implementing the technical portion of company projects, monitoring and maintenance of IT infrastructure and respond to security and other critical events.

This role is also expected to assist other system administrators with daily procedures and handling escalated or surplus incidents. There is also an expectation that the incumbent will research and seek opportunities for the on-going improvement of Redpath's IT systems.

Duties

• develop and write project scheduling and implementation plans;
• action project implementation in isolation or within a team;
• manage milestones, goals and communication within the business and IT team;
• perform daily system monitoring and procedures, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs;
• perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions;
• create, change, and delete user accounts upon request;
• respond to, and resolve, help desk requests including investigating and troubleshooting issues and monitor and report where necessary;
• repair and recover from hardware or software failures including coordinating and communicate with impacted customers;
• research, manage and deploy system and security updates;
• maintain all necessary IS procedures;
• perform ongoing maintenance for performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimisation as required;
• maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment;
• manage hardware and software licensing agreements.

Skills & Experience

• minimum 5 years experience in a system administrator role
• must have evidence of strong project management experience with delegation;
• must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure services;
• must have excellent working knowledge of VMWare and Citrix;
• must have excellent working knowledge of IT Security;
• strong understanding of network topologies and design;
• excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange;
• have, or working towards, MCSA certification;
• valid drivers licence and own transport plus the ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check;
