Operations near and far

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of WA, Telfer is a short two-hour flight from Perth. Working as a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) operation, comprising of open pit and underground, you'll be working 8 days on, 6 days off lifestyle. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and refurbished communal eatery.

Who we're looking for

We are currently seeking an experience Systems Engineer with an Asset Health background to be responsible for ensuring the governance and compliance to our Asset Health systems & procedures, and report on compliance to Newcrest Asset Management Policy and Standards for the Telfer site.

As part of your role you will report on the compliance to assigning resources to RCA's, completion of RCA's & associated actions

Other key responsibilities will be:
  • Identifying opportunities suitable for predictive maintenance, and implement systems to manage predictive maintenance of assets.
  • Facilitating Planned Maintenance Optimisation (PMO) projects from time to time, to optimise asset strategies and tactics for efficient use of resources.
  • Reporting on compliance to Newcrest Delay Elimination Standards (PPMS) for Telfer site.
  • Identifying, preparing data, and implementing improvements in delay elimination (PPMS) failure codes
  • Reviewing change requests across site for PPMS failure codes with Newcrest Corporate Office to ensure it fits with current group reporting

To succeed and thrive in this role, you'll be an experienced engineer, with strong systems background. You'll have demonstrated experience working in the mining/heavy industry in a reliability or systems engineering position. We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment.

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to support and upskill the wider site in using the systems.

Ideally you will be degree qualified, or have extensive on-the-job experience in a similar role.
