Reporting directly to the Senior Supervisory Engineer, the Mine Planning Engineer will undertake the following responsibilities:

•Complete short term mining plans to keep operations on budget targets and within the long term plan.

•Complete survey elevation grade checks at pits and dumps to improve mining accuracy and track actual progress against planned production.

•Layout pit designs and project work for mining accuracy and improvements to ore recovery

•Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual mine and waste storage plans.

•Regular coordination with Operations, Geology, and Survey groups to implement the weekly and monthly plan. In addition to the creation of forecasts to achieve monthly, and yearly budget targets.

•Plan and coordinate moderately complex projects, including estimation of capital and operating costs, design optimization, and mine infrastructure changes

•Work with Maintenance and Purchasing departments to provide engineering expertise, and improve cost optimization.
Qualifications:

•Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field

•Approximately one to three years of mine planning experience at an open pit operation

•Knowledge of Vulcan and/or Deswik mine planning software, AutoCAD, word processing and spreadsheet programs.

•Excellent skills in organization, presentation, written and verbal communications.

•Sound knowledge of mine methods, costs, and productivity.

•Knowledge of CAT Minestar Systems and Terrain for Drilling and Loading

•Knowledge of SQL database programming a plus.

•Knowledge of aerial drone survey systems and Pix4D software a plus
