Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Strategy the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Fixed Assets is responsible for leading the Reliability Engineering team focused on fixed equipment. You will be accountable for developing strategic asset management priorities and leading Teck-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives in collaboration with sites to achieve success.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage a team. You will be a motivated self-starter, with the ability to work under minimal direction, and handle several priorities simultaneously. Most importantly sophisticated analytical, and decision-making abilities will be vital as you will effectively communicate and engage maintenance leaders to drive change.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure integration and improve value
  • Identify, understand, and quantify process risks that may impact performance to safety, cost, production, and quality
  • Optimize and support employee work performance and efficiency by providing leadership, training, and development opportunities, coaching, and mentoring staff, and completing evaluations
  • Deliver maintenance projects with key success factors aligned to the project business case, including health and safety, environmental compliance, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Develop and support annual operating budgets, handling the 5-year planning cycle and advancing the strategic capital business plans
  • Integrate activity planning on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in order to support cost management, reliability, and asset lifecycle performance
  • Work closely with OEM’s to develop a reliability framework and ensure value generation through contract performance and commitments with the goal of increased asset reliability and reduced overall cost of asset ownership
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to incorporate new technologies in the asset management program


Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in maintenance
  • A detailed understanding of Condition Monitoring techniques, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Failure Modes/Effects Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience in both industrial operations and project execution
