General Objectives:

Reporting to the Maintenance General Supervisor, the Electrical Supervisor is a salary exempt role that typically works a 4-3 schedule. The Electrical Supervisor prioritizes work through planned maintenance scheduling; monitors equipment; communicates equipment needs and issues; partners with departments to provide both tactical and strategic support for the needs of the mine to operate in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties:

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

•Takes an active approach in ensuring the health and safety of all employees in accordance with all regulatory agencies as well as the policies, procedures and goals of the Company

•Supervises and develops electrical staff in such a manner that fosters an empowered team capable of achieving high performance standards

•Serves as a technical authority and resource for electrical mine mobile maintenance

•Assigns, supervises and inspects repair and maintenance of electrical systems

•Ensures appropriate task and technical training of subordinates

•Works closely with the planning department to ensure scheduled repairs are completed in a timely manner

•Provides direction, guidance, and support to electrical staff, consultants and contractors

•Determines objectives through coordination with mine management

•Supervises major equipment setup, dismantling and repair plans and procedures

•Coordinates training and development programs for electrical staff

•Responsible for site needs assessment for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products and systems

•Directs and coordinate maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems

•Directs site electrical activities ensuring compliance with known standards and best practices

•Participates in the budgeting process

•Performs additional duties as required

Required Skills:

•Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills

•Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

•Ability to plan and direct work of others

•Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment

•An understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices pertaining to electrical equipment and systems including lock-out tag-out and NFPA7OE, Arc Flash Program, etc.

•Clear understanding and willingness to observe and practice company SOPs and policies

•Detailed knowledge of mine operations concepts, practice and procedures

•Ability to develop and mentor multiple electricians

•Ability to assess risk in relation to occupational hazards and apply appropriate precautions and safeguards, demonstrating a high level of safety leadership

•Proven experience in managing multiple priorities while maintaining a safe work culture

Required Experience:

•6-8 years technical electrical experience in a mining or similar environment

•3-5 years' experience in a leadership role

•Experience with heavy mining equipment including P&H 4100 shovel preferred

•Experience with instrumentation and communication systems in mining applications preferred
