Mine Geologist
Summary of Position: The Mine Geologist will provide mine geological services, including mapping and ore control for the mine operations. This position works closely with mine, engineering and process operations in this planning effort.
Essential Functions:
•Responsible for assisting with ore control, ore characterization, ore pit mapping, quarterly ore and waste sampling, and planning support using the geological data
•Blasthole sampling oversite and QA/QC
•Coordinate collection of geological data including blast hole samples, geological samples as required, mapping of blastholes, and highwall mapping
•Assist with reconciling the geology between plan and model(s)
•Assist with surveying, highwall mapping
•Collaborate with Exploration Group
•Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Training
•B.S. degree in Geology or Geological Engineering required
•Previous Work Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the mining industry preferably in an open pit operation preferred
•Ability to meet deadlines, work with minimum supervision required
•Experience with Microsoft computer systems and a working knowledge of Mine Planning Software (MineSight), AutoCAD and Database programs are a plus
•Proven ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time required
