Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. Recruitment Advisor – Human Resources (2-year contract)

About the Role

Schedule: Full time, 2-year contract, 5/2, 4/3 or rotation

Position Reports To: Manager, Human Resources, Rainy River

Position Overview

The Recruitment Advisor, Rainy River mine site, is responsible for sourcing quality candidates to meet the needs of the organization. The incumbent will participate in the full recruitment lifecycle, from posting and sourcing to selection, and collaborate with hiring managers and the HR department to gain an understanding of the best-fit applicants for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the development and maintenance of recruitment practices in alignment with the overall organizational strategy
  • Acts as a contact for recruitment process stakeholders both internally and externally to facilitate communication and ensure high-quality client and candidate experience with assigned client group
  • Assists in the development and management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community partners.
  • Identifies active and passive candidates and develops pipelines for current and future vacancies, hard-to-fill roles, and high-volume roles.
  • Identifies channels for internal and external sourcing of current and upcoming vacancies.
  • Supports all recruitment related administration, including Applicant Tracking updates, notes and workflows, administration of job postings and any related external advertising; weekly updates to stakeholders; and preparation of new hire HR form packages and complete onboarding processes to ensure proper employee set up.

  • Provides weekly/daily updates to Senior Recruitment Advisor
  • Manage and coordinate pre-employment screening and candidate communications (coordinate background, offer, regret correspondence, etc.)
  • Prepares short-lists of qualified candidates and present top candidates to client teams
  • Prepares and shares post-interview debrief/feedback with interview teams to coach/advise on next steps and hiring decisions
  • Consistent communication and ensure high-quality client and candidate experience with assigned client group
  • Address/communicate and creatively resolve unforeseen and emergent issues and problems that would otherwise inhibit the recruitment process
  • Effectively build strong professional relationships with hiring managers, operations management, HR management, vendors, candidates, and other key stakeholders
  • Consistently promote New Gold


Qualifications
  • Post-secondary in Human Resources, Business, or a related field(s)
  • 3 - 5 years of recruitment experience 1+ years of campus recruitment experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the mining industry or related industry an asset
  • Recruitment of P&M (production & maintenance) candidates essential
  • Recruitment and placement of expatriate and international candidates is an asset
  • Up to 15% of Travel to support Indigenous Community recruitment events and On Campus Recruitment
  • Must have a valid Driver’s Licence


Other Requirements
  • Proficiency in recruitment management system software, ATS and Microsoft Office
  • Customer service mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Team player who will work collaboratively and supportively
  • Prioritize and manage competing demands while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
