Description
We are seeking a Environmental Instrumentation Specialist to assist in maintaining compliance with state and federal environmental regulations by ensuring the proper operation, usage, and maintenance of environmental instrumentation and monitoring devices, completing reporting requirements, and managing sampling.
Responsibilities:
•Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and conduct calibration of instruments for a wide range of environmental monitoring equipment including emission monitors, pressure sensors, and sampling equipment.
•Maintain environmental data historian and complete compliance reporting in accordance with all standards and guidelines.
•Measure and review ventilation equipment performance and report findings to managers and supervisors.
•Continuously improve the preventative maintenance program for environmental monitoring equipment including training, auditing, and establishing procedures.
•Provide environmental project management and support plant employees or contractors on tasks related to environmental compliance.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree AND at least 1 year of experience working in environmental, health and safety fields OR a minimum of a HS Diploma AND at least 3 years of hands on environmental monitoring equipment experience.
•Experience collaborating with operations teams required.
•Valid, current driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Outlook) and knowledge of reporting software preferred.
•Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulatory requirements a plus.
•Effective communication and presentation skills.
•Highly motivated and self-directed.
•Strong time management and project management skills.
•Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment and resolve problems.
•Ability to gather and analyze data and use data to resolve issues.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
•Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.
•Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related heat or cold.
•Occasionally required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, and to work near moving mechanical parts.
•Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, and hear.
•Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms.
•Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
•Frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds.
•Occasionally required to life up to 50 pounds.
