About the Role:
Workpac are seeking an experience Payroll Officer for an opportunity with our industrial client based in Kwinana, WA.
Our client are a leading steel fabrication and construction organisations in WA and are expanding their team. The successful candidate will work within the team to complete accurate and timely preparation and processing of weekly payroll and will come from a similar position. This role is a full time, permanent opportunity with our client based out of their office in Kwinana area in WA. The role will be working full time hours Monday to Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accurate and timely preparation and processing of weekly payroll
  • Coordinating and processing superannuation and PAYG as required
  • Construction industry long service leave and STP lodgement requirements
  • Provide and analyse payroll reports as required, ensure job costing is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, contractual obligations, policy and industrial instruments.
  • Respond to payroll queries in a timely manner.
  • Process timesheets and follow up on any outstanding documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll anomalies.
  • Interpret legislation and policy and provide guidance to management teams.
  • Create, update, and maintain employee records in payroll/HR systems (including onboarding, variations, and terminations etc)
Experience Required:
  • Must have previous experience in a payroll officer position
  • Prior experience in a blue collar environment would be highly regarded
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Must have full working rights in Australia
