Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base that was acquired by Kinross in January 2016. The mine is located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. The Bald Mountain Vantage Complex Project has commenced production, and the first gold bar was poured in June 2019.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Ore Processing Superintendent Foreman, the incumbent ensures that the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and repair of process facilities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive all maintenance activities, execute work schedule, and assign personnel.
• Write performance evaluations and make recommendations for promotion, deliver discipline as needed for all process maintenance personal.
• Working with the process operations group and the process technical services group to plan, monitor, and execute predictive, preventive, and general maintenance. Identify duration of maintenance or repair activity on process equipment or facilities.
• Guide the diagnoses and troubleshooting out of the ordinary equipment or fixed maintenance problems.
• Respond to equipment emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of work performed.
• Oversee the planer position to use the Kinross Way for Maintenance.
• Perform daily administrative duties such as time cards, reports, supply requisitions and attendance tracking.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
• Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
• Continually look for ways to improve the maintenance process.
• Works without risk or harm to self and others.
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Help develop maintenance personnel to accomplish their career goals.
• Performs other related functions as assigned.
• Work as a part of the Process team to ensure the success

Education and Experience

• Must have a strong background in industrial maintenance and electrical.
• Preferable to have an MSHA green card.
• 10 years supervising experience in process and mobile environment preferable.
• Experience on Electrical shovels and haul trucks.
• Experience on site power distribution systems.
• Experience with plant equipment Automation.
• Experience work with predictive maintenance technology and determining the course of action for preventive repair to minimize down time.
• Must be able to prioritize effectively as conflicting priorities may play a major role in this position.
• Must be able to problem solve and remove roadblocks.
• Must ensure continuity of maintenance and communications with operations crews on rotating schedules.
• Experience with JDE is preferred. Planning experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends. (As needed)
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of maintenance functions, and flow as well as limited understanding of leaching operations.

Skills

• Ability to learn P.C. skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
• Demonstrates strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver's license.
