About the role

Great opportunity to join the team at Appin mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Development Maintenance, in this role you will deliver the Superintendent's 13-week schedule by developing and executing 2-5 week and weekly maintenance plans.

You will lead and monitor the safe execution of maintenance for the team and e nsure the Roadway Development team is set-up for success against business priorities and the seamless safe delivery of maintenance and engineering activities .

Accountabilities

• Complete field inspections to ensure compliance to standards and execution of the planned maintenance activities
• Support Maintenance Supervisors and Trades people with technical troubleshooting during breakdowns
• Producing and maintaining the Daily and Shift Area Maintenance Plans in support of the weekly plan
• Support the shift teams by ensuring correct tooling and spares are available.
• Complete close out of work orders in SAP, including work order review & sign off, time confirmations, balance of components and TECOing.
• Ensure statutory compliance of Development equipment fleet is maintained
• Maintain development equipment safety file compliance in the event of component replacement, both planned and unplanned.
• Contribute to department budget forecasting
• Contribute to forecasting and scheduling of maintenance activities and projects
• Ensure execution activities are conducted safely and cost effectively by competent personnel in accordance with the relevant standards and operating procedures
• Technical guidance of Maintenance Planners in the planning of work orders through the work management system SAP, including notification review and prioritisation.
• Complete daily and weekly reviews of area performance for maintenance activities and equipment performance, review of performance for the previous 24 hours, identifying reasons for variance and determining actions deliver the Weekly Plan

About you

• Trade Certificate, Degree or Associate Diploma in a relevant Mechanical Engineering field
• Experience working at an underground coal mine
• Experience with SAP work management (preferable)
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
• Proven ability to prioritise workload and complete activities within time frames allocated
• Experience in the management of contract workers
• Be self-motivated

Location

The position will be based at our Appin operations which are in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
