ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and enter both labor work orders and other work orders in to Asset Suite as required.
  • Daily production timecard input in Asset Suite. 
  • Timecard entry is subject to payroll deadlines which must be met.  
  • This will require diligence in timecard entry every other Monday to meet timecard submission deadlines for Asset Suite.
  • Weekly review of timecard edits to check for reasonableness and accuracy for all timecards submitted by Colowyo employees.
  • Generate SAS reports from Asset Suite to ensure employee hours worked are reported accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete understanding of Colowyo pay policies including, but not limited to, overtime pay policies, equipment upgrade pay, vacation policy, floating holiday policy, bereavement policy, Leadmen and substitute supervisor pay, shift differential, etc.
  • Resolve timecard hour issues and maintain client relationships to ensure customer concerns are addressed. Provide backup to the Senior Administrative Assistant role.
  • Implement appropriate control and maintenance procedures for accounting functions, participate in the monthly and annual general ledger closing process, and assist in preparation of financial statements. Prepare journal entries, both standard and non‑recurring as well as batch, proof, and post journal entries as directed.
  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts on a routine basis and upon special request, to ensure that balances are correct and that subsidiary records are in agreement with general ledger control accounts.
  • Provide technical assistance to support other departments within the mine as necessary.
  • Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. 
  • Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Ability to perform detail work with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and reconciliation procedures.
  • Familiarity with local, State, and Federal regulations as they apply to accounting.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, computerized accounting systems.

Experience:

  • Zero (0) to two and one half (2 ½) years prior experience in an accounting role.

Other:

  • Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the position.
  • Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver’s license.)
  • Proficiency with calculator.
