Mill Operator

Summary of Position:

Mill Operators are responsible for overseeing production at a gold processing mill. They monitor and maintain all aspects of the milling process. The ability to troubleshoot and problem solve are critical skills in successfully operating the mill.

Essential Functions:
 

• Working with a team of operators, mechanics, and lab technicians
• Collecting regular samples and making process adjustments based on sample results
• Operation of heavy mobile equipment such as skid steers, front end loaders, mini excavators, etc.
• Problem solving in a changing work environment
• Monitor facility equipment, including Crushers, conveyors, ball mills, cyclones, pumps, screens, flotation cells, and thickeners
• Ensuring that safety/environmental rules and programs are strictly adhered to.
• Troubleshoot equipment to achieve optimal plant performance.
• Maintaining a clean, hazard free work environment.
• Routine sampling and record keeping.
• Carrying out site inspections and audits.
• Observing gauges, dials, switches, alarms, and other indicators.

Experience and Training:

• Experience in mining or an industrial operation is preferred
• Experience working as part of a team
• Familiar with safe work practices (Experience with OSHA or MSHA is a plus)
