About Arctic Canadian Diamond Company
Arctic Canadian Diamond Company (Arctic) is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine. The company also holds a controlling interest in the Lac de Gras Diamond Project. The Ekati Diamond Mine and the Lac de Gras Diamond Project are located in Canada's Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview
As a member of the Diamond Team, the Diamond Specialist will report to the Superintendent Diamond Control and work a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation (2x2 rotation) at the Ekati mine site. The Diamond Specialist is responsible for degreasing product and assisting with the diamond defalsifying process in the Sort House at the Ekati Diamond Mine.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Sort rough diamonds into categories based on size;
- Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading;
- Ensure product is collected and processed within deadlines while maintaining accuracy to required parameters;
- Strive to improve the turnaround time between tons produced and carats declared, and that the zero diamond loss KPI is maintained;
- Remove the product by scraping grease from the tables and re-applying a new coat of grease; Degrease the product with hot water and rinse/clean the product;
- Assist in the defalsifying of the concentrate in the Sort House by separating diamonds from non-diamonds;
- Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
- Experience is not required but previous experience in diamond concentrate degreasing and cleaning is considered an asset;
- Experience in mining operations or industrial settings, and working at a remote site on a rotation basis is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of WHMIS, which includes familiarity of chemical products, use, disposal and Safety Data Sheets applications;
- Computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills;
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity;
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines;
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly.
