MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
A member of the Client Integrated Systems Completions Team (ISCT) the Mechanical Commissioning Technician role is to deliver high quality, consistent and competent service under project/company requirements, standards, and procedures to support the overall delivery of company goals and schedules. In addition, to ensure all work scope is completed safely with no detrimental impact on personnel, fabric, or environment.

JOB OBJECTIVES

1. Ensure compliance with the site cardinal safety rules and with all safety aspects in the execution of work.

2. Complete field-level risk assessments

3. Interface with Construction and monitor contractor's mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities (rotating equipment cold/hot alignments)

4. Conduct walk downs as required representing the Mechanical commissioning discipline

5. Completion of approved commissioning check sheets

6. Assist vendor representatives and site operations in commissioning and startup activities

7. Create and execute Mechanical commissioning packages

EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Served full recognized apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Five (5) years experience in directly performing mechanical pre-commissioning works in an oil and gas, mining,or similar industrial environment
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, CEC, CSA installation standards etc.
  • Experience in rotating equipment installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Full, clean driving license
  • May be exposed to work overtime depending on tasks, safety, and scope of work.

Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company's Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Take reasonable care of one's own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality under Company Quality System requirements.
