The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an IT Master Analyst (Architecture & Security) to join our IT team in Toronto. This is a permanent position.

This position will develop and manage the development of IT Architecture and Security components and standards, aiming to optimize the environment (systems and technologies) that support the processes of the business units, considering the development of technology available in the market and the aspirations for growth and creation of value of VALE.

Additionally, in this position you will:
    \t
  • Propose evolutions in architecture that contribute to the business, from the monitoring and evaluation of new technologies, alternatives and market trends and considering the aspects of security and standardization.
  • \t
  • Coordinate the mapping and maintain the Target Architecture models in the layers of business processes, systems, data, technology (infrastructure and telecommunications) and security, based on business requirements, market information and current IT Architecture.
  • \t
  • Seeking to anticipate the impacts of IT changes on the business and vice versa, through the management of the components’ repository of the Business Architectures, Information, Application, Technology and Security.
  • \t
  • Align Information Technology Architecture with IT strategy, defining the target architecture, the gap between the Current Architecture and the Target Architecture and the respective multi-year implementation plan.
  • \t
  • Guide other IT areas on how to best use components (technological, applications, data, processes and Security), through the definition and dissemination of architectural norms, practices and standards.
  • \t
  • Monitor IT initiatives / projects in order to identify possible non-adjustments in the implementation of the IT strategy, regarding the Architecture, guiding the respective managers in taking corrective actions.
  • \t
  • Organize and lead the Architecture process, defining standards and models in the layers of business processes, systems, data, Infrastructure, Telecommunications and Security for the company.
  • \t
  • Promote the integration, sharing, integrity and optimization of the IT Architecture, using a comprehensive view and the concept of reuse.
  • \t
  • Manage Data Administration, High Level Processes, Components and Integration Mechanisms, providing services to other IT areas, through the creation and maintenance of conceptual models.
  • \t
  • Promote the alignment of the Future IT Vision with the requirements of process automation, through the analysis of these processes, at a high level.
  • \t
  • Ensure compliance with security and legislation aspects, through the formulation, proposition, updating and auditing of IT Security Policies and Standards.
  • \t
  • Define technology acquisition processes with an average value of US$ 5 million per year, aiming to promote the optimization of systems, technologies (infrastructure and telecommunications) and Security and considering VALE's growth and value creation aspirations.


About You
    \t
  • Equivalent Undergraduate Degree with 8-10 years of progressive experience in acting area; or PhD/ or master’s degree with 5-7 years of progressive experience in acting area
  • \t
  • Market-recognized certifications in applications, processes, and project management (ITIL Foundation, CMMI, PMP or PRINCE2).
