Underground Surveyor

Job Description

An Underground Surveyor serves an essential function to support ongoing operations and expansion of the Tintic Consolidated Metals’ (TCM) gold mining and processing operations. Tintic Consolidated Metals is aggressively re-opening historic mine workings and extracts gold from these workings and is looking to hire a number of motivated individuals to assist the company in achieving its goal.

The primary role of the Underground Surveyor is to support mine operations, geology and the engineering department by provided as-built surveys and markups.

Job Overview

The primary role of the Underground Surveyor is to support mine operations, geology and the engineering department by provided as-built surveys and markups.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Complete as-builts of the underground mine headings as required
• Maintain line and grade markups/ lasers
• Provide cut sheets and maps
• Provide weekly bonus measurements
• Complete month end surveys and solids
• Complete scanning and processing of stopes
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and geology
• Identify and correct hazards, as appropriate, reporting all hazard findings to immediate supervision. 
• Participate in safety teams, accident investigations, and other team roles as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned

Recommended Qualifications

• 5 years of surveying experience required
• Knowledge of Trimble total stations and controllers preferred
• Experience with 3d laser scanning preferred
• Underground experience preferred
• Strong computer skills required with proficiency using CAD software (Vulcan) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in weight unaided
• Legally operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license
• Periodically work in environmental extremes (i.e. hot or cold weather)
• Sit and stand for extended periods of time Stay alert during periods of inactivity
• Walk on uneven and poorly lit ground
• Authorized to work in the USA

Work Schedule

The vacant position is a 5 day on, 2 days off schedule consisting of 8 hours workdays. Position may require weekend or evening work depending on requirements.  Ability to work extended hours as operational needs require to support projects.
