About this role

What you will be responsible for?

Responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategy, plan, and processes to optimally lead and support mine site spend.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day-to-day will look like:
  • We coordinate with the offshore sourcing team and procurement team to support site sourcing plan execution.
  • We negotiate commercial and contractual conditions and coordinate with contractors to acquire services according to operational requirements, seeking the best possible total cost of ownership, terms, and quality conditions.
  • We identify and develop suppliers in the market to support operational needs for both goods and service contracts, including categories such as earthworks, camp and catering services, road maintenance, equipment maintenance, contract mining, etc.
  • Develop and work with local contractors and suppliers to further business opportunities.
  • We build and maintain strong working relationships with end-users, including organizing and presenting training courses for end users and contractors/suppliers to communicate Newmont contract policies and procedures.
  • Develop skills and abilities of team members to improve the end-to-end procurement process, including the development of a quality scope of work.
  • We support the Supplier Risk Management program working with suppliers on prequalification, onboarding, management plans, spending, and performance management.
  • Answer queries from contractors/suppliers on contract policies, systems, and procedures.
  • We work with the Autonomous Haulage Project team on Project sourcing requirements and ensure Procurement timelines are being met to keep Project on schedule.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Sourcing plan development and implementation
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent enterprise-level software packages is vital. Ariba knowledge is a bonus.

Experience:
  • Three to six (3-6)+ years of sourcing and procurement/buying experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Natural resources experience a plus but not required

Skills and Abilities:
  • English fluency-written and verbal; French fluency for Eleonore's role.
  • Confirmed strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
  • Strong influencing skills


Working Conditions & Location

  • The position is located in a town accessible to the mine site and requires site presence 2 days/week for CC&V, remote for other portion; fully remote for other sites if reporting to the Sourcing and Procurement Specialist; other portion can be worked remotely.


The salary range offered for this role is $77,440- 101,640. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
