Summary:

The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing electrical engineering and related technical expertise. Work will include preparing design for DC and AC collection systems and power plant controllers. Projects will focus on design and analysis and will include preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations. The work will be related to renewable energy facilities. The person in this position will also be responsible for the managing projects, coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff, providing technical leadership, and managing teams to meet clients' needs. The work may at times involve short-term out-of-town assignments

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • At least 5 years of related experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above
  • Knowledge and experience with solar DC and AC solar collection system design
  • Experience with power plant controllers
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations applicable to the project assignments described above
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiative
  • A flexible working style and a willingness to modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Experience with collection system studies including ampacity, short circuit, reactive power, grounding, insulation coordination, harmonic, and transient overvoltage
  • Experience with energy storage facilities
  • Authoritative capabilities and experience applying industry-standard resource modeling and assessment techniques (PVsyst, Windographer, etc.)
  • Experience with statistical analysis of solar and wind data, resource and net energy production forecasts (including uncertainty/variability analysis and loss assumptions), design, site conditions, and technology suitability
  • Experience with data collection, post-construction measurement campaigns (including power performance testing), and project contracts
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills
  • Client-relationship and business-development skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD


Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $34.91-45.00/hr. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
