Job description:
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
The expediting analyst will provide support to the expediting Area; this role will require both creative and collaborative working with the Commercial area and the wider business. The role will involve promoting continuous improvement, identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, data analysis, reporting along with specific administrative functions. Ownership perspective going beyond the traditional sourcing approach, meet inventory and supply demands in the distribution process, and provide a guarantee that workflows will be complete on time.
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
  • Degree in logistics and supply management or equivalent.
  • 3 years of progressive work experience in logistics management, related to commercial and logistics preferably in mining environment.
  • A high level of mathematical ability
  • Understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement
  • Ability to analyse, model and interpret data
  • Strong ability to adhere to standards, work with limited supervision, and meet deadlines for service delivery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of any ERP system and JDE Oracle will be advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application, including Power BI
  • Familiarity with practices, processes and procedures throughout the supply chain.
  • Knowledge in import and export processes and management of cargo and customs agents.
  • Knowledge of administrative practices
  • Experience of independently carrying out and presenting complex commercial analysis.
    Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
    • Identify opportunities for improvement within the Commercial department, spanning across mainly expediting, including interfaces with other departments as logistics, procurement, warehousing and inventory areas.
      • Scope and execute improvement initiatives, using different methods.
      • Develop methods to instil a culture of continuous improvement across the expediting area.
      • Responsible for identifying root causes of possible inefficiencies in the expediting area.
      • Work with the ERP team to ensure data integrity of all applications
      • Data analysis, generating monthly dashboards/reports, based on analysis and presenting to expediting management.
      • Responsible for identifying gaps in current expediting processes and development of new processes where required
      • Develop performance metrics and reporting tools, and establish KPIs reporting to enhance department efficiency
      • Key player in moving the expediting area forward to mature digital transformation phase
      • Adherence to IT policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service and responsiveness.
      • Consider cost saving measures without compromising service delivery.
      • Control KPIS of Transports companies to comply with scopes on contracts as delivery on time, no accidents, comply with safety requirements, strategies to pay storage, etc.
      • Create pre-payment requisition in to the system to pay to supplier in different scenarios negotiated with supplier
      • Register a requisition to create a new supplier in to data master system along with financial team.
      • Control, report and reduce operational costs at all stages of the supply chain within the logistics discipline and ensure cost consideration is take with all decisions.
      • Perform other related duties as required.

          Operational Requirements
          Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on
          Driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
          Environmental Responsibilities
          • Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
          • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
          • Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
