Kinross' comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.
Job Description
You will be directly responsible to work proactively with all Health and Safety team members, project team employees and all contractors to develop, maintain, audit, coach and mentor an integrated Health & Safety management system and all associated procedures, standards and tools that promotes a strong risk sensitive safety culture across all areas at Kinross - Great Bear site.
Job Responsibilities
Education and Experience
College Diploma in a business program with 7 years experience working in a supervisory role. Alternately, an individual with an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of directly-related experience may be considered. Must possess a Train the Trainer certificate.
Working Conditions
This position is located in Red Lake, ON. In this role, you will work a 5x2 schedule.

Job Responsibilities
- Proactive identification, coordination and implementation of initiatives to support a positive sustainability culture.
- Assist in designing, communicating an annual plan for improving Health and Safety performance.
- Collaborate with all departments to assess risks and opportunity assessments and ensure hazards and appropriate controls are incorporated into work programs.
- Conduct audits, meetings, training and other activities designed to enhance H&S awareness as prescribed by Corporate policies and procedures.
- Lead and assist with the development and implementation of H&S policies, procedures, guidelines and training.
- Facilitate incident investigations and ensure investigations are conducted in a fair and transparent manner following Company procedures for incident investigation.
- Oversee training activities.
- Liaise with Occupational Health & Safety Committees.
- Promote safety initiatives.
- Organize, develop, review and revise company policies and procedures.
- In conjunction with site leadership support interactions with regulatory agencies.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, legal requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
