Reporting to the Surface Manager, the Project Engineer will assist with project planning, controls, execution and reporting of capital and operational projects on site.  

More specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in SHEC, Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards, Demonstrates leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations, Assist with the management of stage-gate process of new projects, Complete bottom-up schedules/plans of projects, Assist in reporting/audits/reconciliations of ongoing projects during execution, Ensure project scope is maintained and that any changes to scope are appropriately authorized prior to changes, Provide detailed cost analysis of projects, Maintain accurate records of all projects, Ensure contractors are abiding by contract specifications and provide effective solutions if there is a gap in quality, service or delivery, Manage Contractor scheduling and performance reporting, Work closely with all site departments to ensure time-sensitive resources are planned to support Contract execution.

Role Description:

 

  • Planning and preparation of project plans, schedules and budgets Project cost and schedule controls during project implementation Monitoring of project progress and ensuring installations meet design criteria Additional duties including but not limited to the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, reporting and closure of projects involving contractors, vendors, and Myra Falls staff.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree Project Engineering Experience Budgeting and accounting knowledge Minimum 2 years engineering/project engineering experience Experience with Mining Operations Experience with Heavy Equipment Experience in budgeting and cost management Experience in managing 3rd party contractors Contract Management experience
