to identify and implement automation opportunities to unlock value and ensure that GBS (Global Business Services) teams and customers operate in a stable and optimised application environment;
to contribute to internal guilds with best practices, ways of working and continuously contribute to improving internal development and automation capability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Serious contenders must have a Degree/ BTECH/ National Diploma (3 years) Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar discipline;
- A minimum of 2 years of working in business process automation or improvement;
- Experience in RPA tools (Automation Anywhere preferred);
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, along with the capacity to trouble shoot and formulate solutions;
- Comprehensive understanding of business processes
- Experience with query languages such as SQL is essential;
- High level understanding of best practices in concepts such as solution architecture, data architecture, security principles;
- Knowledge and understanding of Digital technologies and mining operations or business processes is advantageous:
- Understanding of SAP and Applications applicable to GBS (VERSA, SharePoint, MDW tool) and integration best practice is advantageous;
- Visualisation Application Experience (PowerBI preferred) is advantageous;
- Experience with languages such as C#.NET, C++, Java, Python, etc. is advantageous;
- Understanding of the latest analytics and automation tools and how they can be used to optimise functional processes.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure alignment to and compliance with internal controls including South32 Values, Standards, Policies, agreements, systems and procedures;
- Overall coordination and governance of GBS automation and analytics projects to ensure transparency in decision making, due process, efficiency, effectiveness, and that project outcomes are achieved, and change is managed;
- Monitor automation solution effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement of work processes in collaboration with functions across the organization;
- Drive RPA and other automation and improvement initiatives in GBS and South32;
- Assist the Lead to manage the full suite of automation work, through careful planning, impact assessment and analysis of the best fit solutions for each project scenario and functional stream of work;
- Provide process/technical support to the GBS sub-functions and South32 support partners - escalation point for RPA queries and coordinate Versa and ERP system changes as they apply to the South32 RPA environment;
- Support the embedment of automation processes in all functional work streams to develop and sustain overall GBS excellence
- Review and analyse reports of incidents and recommend improvements that result in ongoing reduction in occurrence;
- Develop procedures and frameworks to ensure process and system standardisation and best practice within GBS.
