Job Description:

Summary:

This is a temporary position lasting from approximately September until December. Employment term may be extended based on available work and performance.

The person selected for this position will work with multidisciplinary teams to solve our clients' complex construction challenges. Responsibilities include on-site observation to document construction project activities in accordance with the project's approved plans and specifications. Duties include observing all project-associated field operations; maintaining a daily record of work and assisting with project document control; attending progress and safety meetings; assisting the project manager with project scheduling; acting as liaison between owner, engineers, and contractors; assisting with material acquisition and supporting materials; maintaining shop drawings and submittals; and reviewing final construction documentation. The work will be primarily related to hydroelectric facilities. The work will involve out-of-town assignments in Wisconsin.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience directly related to job responsibilities described above, including previous experience with construction oversight of grouting and testing on hydroelectric facilities
  • Ability to manage large projects and work independently on job sites
  • Strong technical background with managerial and leadership skills
  • Ability to monitor several types of work activity and record daily contractor work activities
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with the owner and contractor
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments regarding timeliness of work and to do whatever it takes to meet the service requirements of clients
  • Ability to work with details and to be thorough and well-organized
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building relationships and working in project teams
  • A flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in geotechnical engineering, geology, or relevant experience
  • 15+ years of experience directly related to job responsibilities described above
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications


This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement and will be based out of a construction site in Wisconsin.

NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided.
