POSITION OVERVIEW

Mechanically troubleshoot, maintain and repair components on production electric Shovels, electric / diesel Drills and other mining support equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Carryout preventative maintenance on electric Shovels and electric / diesel Drills.
• Carryout repairs on electric Shovels and electric / diesel Drills which include major component replacement and repair or rebuild.
• Preventative maintenance and repair on forklifts and boom trucks.
• Maintain other pieces of support equipment.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrate proficiency in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Electrical 12/24-volt DC systems.
• Demonstrate proficiency with an Arc Welding, Wire Feed and Cutting Torch.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50+ pounds.
• Ability to climb long ladders / steps.
• Ability to work in cramped / confined areas.
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts (24/7/365 operation).
• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form
• Ability to work in adverse climate / temperature environments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•HS Diploma or GED

•Minimum 1-1/2 years' experience maintaining mining equipment

•Or, similar rating from trade school - certification.
