Description

Under frequent supervision, performs a variety of routine warehouse duties involving the receiving, unloading, inventory, storing, movement, and distribution of goods and materials at assigned site.
  • Receives, inspects and unloads goods and materials and places into inventory. Processes reservations and issues material to end users, including via walk-up requests.
  • Operates various heavy equipment, up to and including fork lifts (up to 36,000 lbs), pallet jacks and carts.
  • Delivers material to customers, captures proof of delivery signatures, and maintains a record of delivered items.
  • Implements policies designed to maintain inventory in usable condition and ensure reliability, including: visual inspection of inventory on an ongoing basis; wrapping and
    rotation of movable elements of inventory. Utilize site SOPs and product literature to understand and complete assessment of equipment/products
  • Updates warehouse management systems (WMS) as needed to:
    • Maintain records of delivered items and remaining inventory
    • Update manual or automated inventory listings
  • Sets customer expectations by communicating delivery times and possible delays if expected
  • Perform other duties as requested; including Warehouse Tech I duties


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • One (1) year warehouse experience in mining or similar industry, including one (1) year consistent operation of a variety of heavy equipment within a warehouse environment (e.g., forklifts, applicable warehouse equipment)
  • Proficient in all Warehouse Technician I skills
  • Detailed understanding of warehouse inventory control systems, purchase orders and accounts payable processes and methods.
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in email, and an understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Firm understanding /use of automated warehouse management systems (e.g. SAP, Barcoding Systems or related software)
  • Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Microsoft Excel, Materials Management software
  • SAP
  • Barcode systems


Criteria/Conditions:
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
