Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an IT Operations Manager to join Nevada Gold Mines. The successful candidate will drive core areas of oversite on risk, compliance, and governance for the management of IT operations. The manager provides leadership by recognizing potential areas of growth that need increased IT involvement and for leading the design and delivery of an IT Operations strategy that builds these essential capabilities. The holder of the position has broad knowledge of all aspects of IT and the experience to contribute to the vision and leadership in all aspects of IT management. As a leader in the business, the IT Operations Manager will work collaboratively with other business leaders at sites and global teams to define, articulate and champion the NGM IT Operations strategic and operational plans.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and Developing a regional team of technology experts
• Creating partnerships with business owners to ensure relationships are adding value
• Supporting a large footprint of high production mines, closure sites and town offices
• Managing IT Opex and Capex budget and forecasts across Nevada Gold Mines
• Developing and aligning IT strategy with business and global direction
• Engaging with leadership teams to understand and assist with technology projects
• Understanding Mining industry specific requirements and priorities
• Developing industry relevant, best practice IT policies and procedures
• Guiding business decisions on technology platforms and initiatives
• Delivering strategic cost saving measures without impacting business performance
• Ensuring a robust and reliable IT infrastructure platform to maintain operational requirements
• Negotiate with vendors, outsources, and contractors to secure products and services
• Partner with global teams to ensure alignment on strategy, initiatives, and architecture
• A passion to manage, develop and mentor team members
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Experienced project management competency
• Provide standards and guidance to regional and mine site IT policies and procedures.
• Oversee managed service providers to ensure proper level support is provided to the business.
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, managed services providers, and contractors to procure infrastructure products and manage services
• Experience understanding large-scale global and regional networks.
• Technical knowledge of network systems, protocols and standards
• Experience designing secure and reliable IT infrastructure
• Experience with Cisco networking infrastructure and configuration
• Hardware, software, and network troubleshooting experience
• Experience managing and supporting virtual, physical and cloud server environments
• Comfortable operating in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information, and re-prioritizing as needed
• Considers overall impact of planned changes to complex systems

Qualifications:

• University or college degree in computer science or engineering required
• 10+ years general IT experience preferred
• 4+ years of direct people management preferred
• Experience with organizational integration preferred
