Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking an Environmental Consultant / Engineer / Scientist to join the Environmental Services Group, based in Perth.

About the role:

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to work as part of our expanding Hatch Environmental Services Group, supporting the wider Hatch business in Australia and Asia. You will be working on a diverse suite of projects across Power, Infrastructure, Metals and Minerals industry sectors based in our Perth Office. You will be taking a lead position on projects and collaborating with a team whom will provide technical input, support and mentoring opportunities. You will work on a diverse range of projects including permitting, approvals, environmental engineering and design, applied sustainability, environmental and social due diligence, closure and impact assessment. You enjoy working collaboratively within integrated, multidisciplinary teams, liaising and supporting global peers.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Apply a deep understanding of sustainability/Environmental principles to solve complex problems.
  • Develop deliverables for projects including technical advisory services, regulatory approvals, impact assessment, expertise in closure, and provide detailed design support.
  • Manage projects and client’s environmental or sustainability outcomes
  • Mentor juniors in the environment team, and educate project teams around their environmental and sustainability commitments, and potential constraints.
  • Having experience with international frameworks such as International Finance Corporation performance Standards and Equator Principles is advantageous, however not required .
  • Have knowledge of Infrastructure and Industry sustainability frameworks is also advantageous, however not required.


You will have at least 7 years’ experience and hold appropriate qualifications in an environmental/sustainability related discipline. Your considerable knowledge of either sustainability, closure, due diligence, impact assessment or environmental engineering will be complimentary to the diverse environment services group. You will be comfortable speaking with senior leaders in the business, managing projects, budgets and schedules, and have excellent report writing skills.
