Position Overview

One of our rapidly growing Districts, Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE), is seeking an Interface Manager for Valley Transit Authority's (VTA) BART Silicon Valley CP2 project in Santa Clara, CA. CP2 Project is a six-mile, four-station extension that will bring BART train service from Berryessa/North San José through downtown San José to the City of Santa Clara. CP2 is the largest of four contracts serving as the foundational backbone of the BSVII Project, interfacing with the three other Contract Packages and ultimately includes building the majority of the infrastructure that will enable the remaining contracts to be successfully delivered. The CP2 Interface Manager will oversee and support interface management for all project interfaces, including with 3rd parties and activities associated with Contract Documents.

Location

This position is based out of our Santa Clara project office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Interface Management actives associated with Contract Documents.
  • Identify, define, manage, track, resolve, Verify and assist VTA to Validate Project Interfaces
  • Management of the interfaces within the Project (Intra-contract), external Interfaces that impact the Project's scope, and interfaces/bridging documents between the Project, other CP Contractors, and Third Parties.
  • Must be able to evaluate changes for impacts to interfaces. Work closely with VTA requirements manager and systems integration manager to trace requirements for interfaces and monitor/track manufacture, installation and construction of the interfaces for proper implementation and compliance


Qualifications

The Interface Manager needs to have good oral and written communication skills, detailed oriented, knowledge of project schedules and contract administration. Must be able to work at our Santa Clara office within the required hours of operation / work hours identified.
  • Bachelor's Degree qualifications in construction, civil, project management or similar function
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with multi- disciplinary design-build infrastructure projects.
  • Relevant project management / engineering / construction experience to support effective management of interface issues
  • Experience with executing Interface Management Plan
  • Broad engineering skills and must have experience with the design and construction of rail infrastructure systems, integrating communications, train control and electrical systems.
  • Previous systems engineering integration experience on large construction projects is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding of design and construction methodology; construction methods, and sequencing of design and construction work.
  • Commercial understanding to be able to monitor, identify, document and support contract modifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team
  • People management skills in the context of managing various stakeholders.
  • Experience with reporting to the relevant parties directly and being accountable for the overall success of the project deliverables
  • Ability to travel as business requires
