About the role

We are looking for an Asset Health Advisor to utilize technologies such as Emerson AMS Vibration Software, ALS Oil Analysis, Lube-It, Flir Software, and other technical systems to improve the Asset Health capability at IOC in Labrador City. This is a Day Shift (Monday - Friday) position and possible hours outside of that schedule.

This role is a great opportunity to improve the health of IOC assets by using the technologies and work closely with the operations, reliability, and maintenance teams to prevent failures, equipment damage, minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Asset Health at our Labrador Operations, you will:
  • Ensure the safety of the operation by responding to critical information from communication with the operation or safety systems and take action to prevent safety incidents
  • Understand and actively use the current landscape of condition monitoring-, process historians-, maintenance-, lubrication-, reliability-, inspections- and other application and tools
  • Identify repeated maintenance and equipment problems based on Asset Health data, contributing to the root cause analysis and recommendations for their elimination
  • Analyze Asset Health data and prepare reports to identify upcoming maintenance work with the objective to prevent equipment failure and address equipment health issues
  • Actively collaborate with the Asset Management and Maintenance planning teams to provide asset condition intelligence into maintenance prioritization
  • Respond to operations and maintenance calls from the operation and trigger the appropriate response, whether it be guidance, investigation, inspections, or creating a notification in the maintenance backlog.
  • Monitor asset condition to produce a diagnosis and provide an actionable recommendation in a timely manner. (ie request equipment shutdown when impending failure is predicted)
  • Constantly improve the quality of asset health data to enable better decision making and maintenance planning
  • Enhance the utilisation of systems such as Emerson AMS by implementing available functionality
  • Work with reliability engineering and contribute to improve equipment reliability and action any maintenance strategies.

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Strong HSE focus
  • Experience and understanding in the use of online- and offline condition monitoring technologies
  • Experience in asset health, maintenance and reliability management and metrics
  • Experience with Emerson AMS, ALS Oil Analysis, Flir Software, Pi, SAP PM
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with a team focus
  • Experience 2 years in a maintenance-related position in the Mining- or similar industry
  • Proactive attitude. Punctuality. Flexibility in workday assignments
  • CAT 2 Vibration Analysis Certification

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.
