About this role

What you will be responsible for?
  • Provide administrative and business support for global legal function, including with respect to legal operations, inclusion and diversity initiatives, and management of outside counsel.
  • Leads all aspects of day-to-day billing, accounts receivable, and budgeting, and participates in the annual budgeting process.
  • Provides support for certain legal matters with direction and supervision from senior paralegals and attorneys.


Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • Engages in various administrative tasks for team, while independently making decisions and improving efficiencies (e.g. Travel, supplies, mail/shipping, expense reports, USB transfer requests, IT requests for team members, onboarding of new hires, organizing virtual meetings, proofreading and editing, etc.).
  • Provides SAP accounting support for Contract Request Forms, vendor set up, POs, NOIs, and Invoices; serves as the liaison between accounting and legal and land employees who approve invoices; provides entity payment support for corporate services and coordinates with Treasury and Accounting, including with respect to matters involving multiple international jurisdictions (e.g. payments Barbados entities; IMFSARL registration fees of Chambre de commerce Luxembourg; payment of Director Fees for international directors, etc.).
  • Coordinates global implementation, including training and on-boarding, and ongoing use of enterprise legal management solution for legal spend and matter management (currently CounselLink). Troubleshoots various issues (e.g., identifying accurate cost elements to be tied to particular matters).
  • Coordinates budget planning process and acquires information from budget owners to prepare budget for review by Associate General Counsel and EVP and General Counsel; coordinates accrual process and budget updates on a monthly and quarterly basis. Pulls reports and spend details for the team throughout the year, including during the budgeting process.
  • Supports legal operations activities of the global legal function and the Associate General Counsel and EVP and General Counsel, including in the area of diversity and inclusion (e.g., lead all aspects of administration of ABA annual survey.)

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Education:
  • College-level courses or secretarial/business school training is desirable.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in legal and technology trainings is required.

Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years executive/administrative assistant experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary.
  • A minimum of 2 years working with attorneys or a director or higher level executive is desirable, however not required.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of office equipment.
  • Strive to take initiative.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish tasks and make decisions without constant direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures, and cross-functional operations.
  • Professional experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


Working conditions and location

Where you will be located!
  • The position is located in the Denver Corporate office.
  • This position is a hybrid role.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.


The salary range offered for this role is $31.00 - 41.00/hour. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
