The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, located in Canada's Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic Canadian has offices in Canada and Belgium.

Position Overview

The role is to provide overall support with the finance team. It involves working on various tasks among different groups in Finance: Accounts Payable, Tax, operational accounting, and financial reporting. The work term of the role is from January 2023 to August 2022.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Works across multiple groups in Finance department;
  • Organize financial information required for audit and check the accuracy of the information;
  • Prepare accounting journal entries;
  • Assist with month end, quarter end and year end financial reporting;
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliation;
  • Assist with GL or subledger clean-up projects;
  • Process accounts payable invoices in SAP and understand the flow of invoices in SAP;
  • Assist with monthly GST returns;
  • Generate financial information from SAP for tax filing work or audit;
  • Organize tax information request from auditors or other groups; and
  • Other ad hoc tasks as needed.


Education/Experience
  • 3 rd or 4 th year accounting student majoring in Accounting/Finance
  • Intermediate Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
  • Fast learner for accounting system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with ability to work with multiple tasks
  • Good organization skills and able to manage competing priorities
  • Responsible, committed and result oriented individuals

Additional Information

Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points,
