About the Rothsay Project

The Rothsay Gold Mine is located approximately 80km east of Perenjori WA and approximately 400kms from Perth Airport or 1 hr flight from Perth. The scope of this project includes mine development (2 boom capital and single boom narrow vein) and mine production (narrow vein longhole stoping). Redpath has a modern underground fleet making it an exciting opportunity for operators and tradespeople alike.

The role involves

• Working a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, 12hr shifts
• Liaising with the Project Manager and Mine Superintendent on specific instructions for each shift and writing out specific job instructions for each person under your control.
• Ensures safe implementation of ground support and design aspects of planning to ensure compliance with the GCMP.
• Check all underground personnel to ensure that they have completed their pre-starts and Workplace Inspections and visit any personnel working underground frequently, especially when alone.
• Ensure housekeeping underground is kept to a high standard (eg signs hung against wall when not in use, signs kept clean, services hung correctly and extended when required, vent ducting extended when required and fixed when damaged, roadways kept clean, hoses rolled up, general rubbish removed, dust suppressed, cables kept off ground etc)
• Maintain a stable mining operations workforce and act as the first point of grievance for the crew.

We are looking for

• Minimum 10 years' underground mining experience including a minimum 5 years' shift supervision experience
• In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity
• WA Shift Supervisor's Ticket of Competency
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Valid manual drivers licence
• National Police clearance within last 6 months advantageous
• A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done - safely.
