The Opportunity - Permanent, Full Time Position

The position of Program Manager Analytics will see you driving the vision and delivery of South32's analytics capability and projects, to significantly uplift value achieved from data and analytics within the business. A key part to this role is to engage with stakeholders across the Company to build a deep understanding of their strategies and value drivers, to prioritise and deliver work across the analytics portfolio, and to drive awareness and capability uplift in analytics.

Reporting to the GM Innovation and Analytics, your key accountabilities are:

Customer Engagement

• Engage with business leaders to define and embed a value-driven Analytics approach and robust analytics pipeline for each Operation and across Corporate Functions within South32, in line with South32's performance-focused Operating System and improvement pipelines
• Work closely with Business Improvement Managers to provide support and guidance on operations Analytics activities
• Design and deliver (including communications and change management planning) South32's approach for embedding analytics capability within operations and functions.

Analytics Program Delivery

• Manage the program of analytics projects across Operations and Functions, ensuring best practice methodologies are applied to ensure each project delivers value for the customer
• Manage stakeholder engagement, change management and communications for analytics program of work, acting as the translator between business needs and technical solutions
• Manage budget, schedule, and team resourcing requirements for analytics program of work, including management of external vendors where required

Data Strategy and Governance

• Provide input into South32's broader data and analytics strategy and program of work, working closely with the Digital Technology team to agree and implement one consistent approach for data and analytics across the business
• Play an active role in helping to develop the Business Plan and priorities for the Analytics team, in concert with the GM Innovation & Analytics

Leadership

• Play a key role as a member of the extended Innovation and Business Optimisation Leadership team, contributing to team direction, safety, culture, inclusion, and diversity outcomes
• Build a high performing team through coaching, development, and performance management

About You

• Demonstrated capability in leading whole-of-organisation, cross-functional complex change programs through to value delivery
• Strong people leadership capability including coaching, development, and performance management of teams
• Deep experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
• Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
• Problem solving and root cause identification skills
• Demonstrated competency in general and project reporting (includes presentation of report and / or findings to stakeholders)
• Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
• Comfort communicating and interacting with data scientists, as well as understanding and translating the science of analytics to a more general audience
• Strong understanding of digital / technologies and how they drive business value
• Thorough understanding of working with big data and the required technologies / methodologies / statistics to translate data into actionable insights
• Experience in Business Improvement with robust understanding of Business Improvement methodologies and tools
• Experience in the Mining sector is desired, but not mandatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Maths or similar
• Postgraduate qualification in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning) highly regarded
