What You Will Do

Respond to a variety of internal and / or external requests, to compile data relevant for decision making and business case preparations. Collect and analyze data, summarizing findings in a structured format. Work collaboratively with site, regional, and corporate teams. Participate in the development of communication materials to share progress and challenges with management as required. Work closely with the Projects Group in completing Scoping, Pre-feasibility, or Feasibility studies. Support the strategic business planning process and technical evaluations.

The Opportunity

A placement at Kinross Gold Corporation is a unique opportunity to be exposed to different disciplines within the company and to gain international experience with ESG related topics, ameliorate data and analysis skillset, and learn from various disciplines connected to ESG. Additionally, working from our corporate office gives you context about our sites and how they all tie in to the broader portfolio, and impact shareholders and the market. The teams you will be working with are engaged and high-performing, and include approachable people from all walks of life. They are very hands-on and take mentorship seriously, so you will receive a lot of support, guidance, and training to gain the skills you need to get the job done. By the end of your internship, you will have developed tangible ESG, planning and business skills that will help you get the most out of your final year(s) of university and set a meaningful foundation for your career post-graduation.

Must Haves

  • Registered students returning to school in 2023 in a related field.
  • Lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement
  • Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work
  • Strong time management skills; the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Up to date knowledge about ESG, including key society issues and how these affect the corporate sector


  • Nice to Haves

  • Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish
  • Knowledge and skill with a PC utilizing office applications
  • Active extracurriculars
  • Strong knowledge of socio-economic data analysis and graphics
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite


  • Our Approach to COVID-19
