Mine Maintenance Superintendent
Summary:
Plans, directs, and coordinates, either personally or through subordinate supervisors, the activities of employees engaged in the assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, installing, repairing, modifying and maintaining underground maintenance of underground equipment and machinery to include electrical systems, crusher facility, hoists, fans, 13.8v equipment and machinery to manufacturer or Company specifications. Monitors costs, productivity, safety and employee morale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Establishes and ensures adherence to general maintenance standards and procedures. Ensures adherence to applicable safety rules and regulations. Provides specific training and development opportunities for supervisory and hourly employees. Counsels and coaches subordinates concerning labor relations, safety, productivity and cost issues and makes recommendations regarding such
•Monitors and controls costs associated with mine maintenance. Monitors employee morale, overtime and attendance. Participates in step grievance meetings to resolve contract issues. Ensures compliance with the Labor Agreement
•Assists in the development and preparation of capital and operating budgets and reviews expenditures to prevent excess costs or inaccurate charges. Interacts with vendors and suppliers to ensure the efficient use of maintenance supplies and tools
•Studies and reviews data, reports and records and confers with engineering and production personnel to plan and direct maintenance activities. Plans and directs maintenance crew assignments. Provides input for long and short range mine maintenance planning and development
•Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills.
•Must be team oriented and possess the ability to develop and foster a team environment.
•Must be knowledgeable of computer operations and associated software applications, including PLC, AutoCaD, and Rockwell Automation.
•Must have thorough working knowledge of safe and efficient mine maintenance techniques and procedures that conform to applicable Company, State and Federal safety regulations.
•Must possess, or be eligible to possess, Wyoming Mine Foreman and Examiner certifications.
•Previous supervisory experience is required.
Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in related field with 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
