Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking experienced UG Mining Study Managers to join our Mining Practice in Adelaide, Australia.

We support our clients through their entire project lifecycle from front-end studies to project execution, then further support them operating the assets, and developing business efficiencies. The study manager is responsible for managing and leading FEL 1,2 and 3 (Concept, Prefeasibility and Feasibility) projects through a structured management process that begins with contextualizing the project, moving through set up, execution, evaluation and eventually close out.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Take responsibility for the successful outcome of the study.
  • Display and actively promote behavior aligned to Hatch’s goal of zero harm to people and the environment
  • Provide leadership to the study and create a highly committed and aligned team environment focused on delivering positive project outcomes for the client
  • Carry clear responsibility and accountability for delivery of the study goals as set down by, and agreed with the client
  • Develop and obtain sign-off from the client on the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and the Client's Requirement Specification at each stage of the study.
  • Develop a detailed scope, cost and schedule control baseline, and manage any study changes to these agreed control baselines
  • Ensure compliance to Hatch and client delegations of authority, procedures and policies
  • Manage and coordinates all project activities, ensuring the required business and project integration activities occur.

You bring to the role:

Qualifications in a relevant mining engineering discipline combined with solid experience in cross functional leadership roles in multi-disciplinary project environments, with a strong underground experience set. You have advanced safety awareness and an ability to function well as part of, and leading, a team environment. You will bring your demonstrated commercial and business development skills in conjunction with experience in engineering, procurement and construction, and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies. You value the client with strong client focus and have a well-developed written and oral communication skills.
